This is not like you remember, this is New Year’s Fruitcake. The reason I call it New Year’s fruitcake is because after they have been baked, the cakes are bathed in bourbon once a week until they ‘ripen’.
Based on Eudora Welty’s White Fruitcake, these are packed with butter and bourbon, and studded with pecans and citrus! Best of all, NO BRIGHT, BORDERING ON PLASTIC- MARASCHINOS! They are a true, boozy holiday delight and make a fabulous gift!
As long as you order by the the last week of November, your cake will be ready to eat in time for late December!!
